Geneva Reed is a Chicago landscape and cityscape photographer. Geneva is a self-taught photographer who began capturing images as a teenager. She captured images in her neighborhood, during summer vacations, at school, and while serving in the Illinois Army National Guard. Geneva loves capturing picturesque moments. In August 2021, Geneva Reed Photographic Art was formed, and later, Geneva began exhibiting her photography in local galleries in the south suburbs of Chicago and beyond.

I am a fourth generation native-born Californian, a classically trained fine artist, and Marine Corps veteran who served during the Cold War. My works cover the fields of prehistory, wildlife, and military subjects using traditional media. I have been exhibited at numerous venues, and have been published both online and in print. Much of my military artwork covers the Cold War era, which has received little representation in historic art, and something that I am now endeavoring to make right.

I am a self taught artist though I am currently going to school for my AFA. After my four years in the Marine Corps I was dealing with a lot of mental health issues and art was my way of bringing back peace and beauty into my life. The mediums I like to work with are acrylics, soft pastels, watercolor and charcoal though I always love experimenting with new mediums. I love painting the night sky, sunrises and sunsets, landscapes and space. I enjoy school because it allows me to experiment with different types of mediums and also gives me the space to try abstract art. I’m on the path to find my style and not sure where I will end up at but I’m enjoying the journey and the healing that art gives me.

Joseph Jefferson is an abstract painter from Houston, Texas and a graduate of the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. His work emerges from a life shaped by discipline, service, and creative exploration, drawing on experiences as a musician, Eagle Scout, technician, inspector, war veteran, husband, and father. These intersecting roles inform a visual language that is both intuitive and engineered, expressive yet deliberate.

I have been experimenting with painting and photography for the past 10 years. I have no formal training. I use a variety of mediums in my art such as: acrylics, watercolor, pencils, ink, fabric, and any other materials I find that would enhance or make my artwork more appealing. In my photography, I am mostly drawn to nature.
