About the Artist:
Al is a self-taught Artist. He never picked up a paint brush until his mid-thirties. His first attempt was a Light House in acrylics. After that the experimentation began. His early influences were William Alexander first, followed by Bob Ross. Then read a book about shadow and light and began to incorporate other influences. Of Native American and Celtic heritage, Al was born in Illinois and moved to Missouri at the age of four. He grew up on a farm in west-central Missouri. Loved the outdoors, travel and nature, so you will see those influences in his work. Now retired and living in Excelsior Springs, Mo.
