Alina Rhoades

I think I was born an artist but was discouraged from expressing myself for most of my life. My first art class was in my early 40s. After getting divorced I was able to take art classes and enroll in college classes. My degree is in sustainability but I also took various art classes from individual artists. Art was secondary so there was little time for it and slow improvement. A few years after graduation I enrolled in an art program but only made it through 5 semesters when fibromyalgia took over my body and I could no long make it to school. Recently my health has improved enough I am able to function a bit better and go back to making art. The last couple of months I have been doing pet portraits for friends. People keep telling me that I should sell my paintings but marketing is out of my comfort zone. For now I am trying to develop consistency in my work.
