Donivon Wood

Hello, and welcome! I am Donivon, a Navy Veteran. I served as a Fire Controlman onboard USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) and USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71). I am also a lifelong artist with a passion for drawing, painting and even sculpture. I've always loved pencil art because of the level of detail that can be achieved. Throughout my art journey, I have gravitated toward realism, but I certainly have a love for abstract as well. It is my mission to create what I find beauty in, and share with you. Until recently I've primarily specialized in graphite and charcoal pencil drawings. Although I love the visual aesthetic of gray, black and white tones, I decided I need color in my work. So colored pencils, soft pastel, watercolor and acrylic painting are my newest passions. Some current works on here are portraits of pop culture, music and sports icons who I personally admire, or was commissioned to do. I love creating commissioned/custom drawings for people. The joy that I feel when I hear or see how much the work brings them joy confirms that this is my purpose. Check out my commissioned works page.
